17th Intrinsic Capacity, Frailty & Sarcopenia Research for Healthy Longevity
Date & Location
Join us from March 3 to 5 in Cannes for the 17th International Conference on Intrinsic Capacity, Frailty and Sarcopenia for Healthy Longevity.
Editorial
“Over the past 13 years, the International Conference on Intrinsic Capacity, Frailty and Sarcopenia for Healthy Longevity (ICFSR) has become a globally recognized platform for advancing clinical trials and translational research in older adults. This conference brings together researchers, clinicians, and innovators to explore interventions aimed at preventing frailty, preserving physical function, and delaying dependency—notably through nutrition, physical exercise, geroscience-guided therapies, and other approaches.
Reflecting advancements in aging science, the conference is now embracing a broader, more unified vision. This focus highlights the growing importance of Intrinsic Capacity (IC)—an individual’s total physical and mental capabilities—as a cornerstone of modern aging research. Complementing the concept of frailty, IC shifts the perspective from deficits toward preserving function, resilience, and quality of life. Recent high-impact studies have demonstrated how IC can be measured and applied as a practical framework for biological aging research and clinical intervention. Intrinsic Capacity is being put into practice worldwide through the World Health Organization’s ICOPE program.”
