« Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are excited to welcome you to the vibrant city of Tunis for the upcoming 52nd meeting of SENP+ Société Européenne de Neurologie Pédiatrique, which will take place at 26, 27 and 28 March 2026 at Radisson Hotel Tunis City Center in Tunis.

This meeting will mark a historic edition, as it will be the first time the event is held outside the European continent. This significant decision reflects the inclusive spirit and openness of SENP+, with its growing commitment to the Mediterranean region and the strengthening of Euro-Mediterranean collaborations.

Selected for its cultural richness and intellectual vitality, Tunis is far more than just the administrative capital of Tunisia – it is a true capital of knowledge. Open to the Mediterranean and located at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, and the Arab world, Tunis is a millennial city shaped by successive civilizations. It bears the prestigious legacy of Carthage, the ancient Mediterranean power, whose ruins continue to captivate the world. A city where history meets modernity, Tunis offers a unique blend: a UNESCO World Heritage medina, a vibrant cultural life, a dynamic medical and academic scene, a warm tradition of hospitality, and a refined culinary heritage inspired by diverse influences, sure to delight even the most curious palates.

This meeting will take place in a city that holds a historic role in the development of neurosciences in the region. Tunisia was the home of the late Professor Mongi BEN HMIDA, a distinguished neurologist and a pioneer of Tunisian and international neurology. He was the first to describe gamma-sarcoglycanopathy and ataxia with vitamin E deficiency. Following in his footsteps, paediatric neurology in Tunisia emerged and has grown steadily for over 40 years, thanks to another key figure: Professor Najoua BEN KHALED MILADI, founder of the specialty in Tunisia. Her decisive contribution led to the training of several generations of paediatric neurologists and anchored the discipline in the country’s medical and academic landscape.

The 2026 edition will focus on two major themes in paediatric neurology: treatable neurometabolic diseases and neuromuscular disorders. These often complex conditions will be explored through multidisciplinary approaches, shared experiences, and presentations of the latest therapeutic advances. A pre-congress course, dedicated to neurologists and paediatricians, will also address a central topic in daily practice: epilepsy. This combination of rich civilization and a strong tradition in neurological sciences makes Tunis an ideal city to host the meeting of SENP+. We anticipate that this congress will be a tremendous success, offering an opportunity for meaningful exchanges and collaborations in an unforgettable setting.

On behalf of the Société Européenne de Neurologie Pédiatrique (SENP+) and the Tunisian Child Neurology Association (TCNA), we invite you to join us in Tunis and extend our warmest welcome to what promises to be an outstanding congress.

We look forward to welcoming you to Tunis! »
