This university hospital offers excellent care at sector 1 rates and treats almost 300,000 patients every year. Ensuring a continuum of care, research and training, the Hôpital Fondation Rothschild conducts 125 clinical research studies each year, publishes almost 300 scientific articles and trains almost 700 students. The departments of the Hôpital Fondation Rothschild regularly appear at the top of the rankings of the best French hospitals. The Hôpital Fondation Rothschild has obtained the highest level of certification, with no obligation or recommendation for improvement from the Haute Autorité de Santé.

Department of Paediatric Neurosurgery

The Department of Paediatric Neurosurgery is particularly renowned for the evaluation and surgical treatment of intractable epilepsy in infants and children. Epilepsy is the most common chronic neurological disease in children. Very often, the course of this disease is favourable, but in some cases, seizures persist several times a month or several times a week despite medical treatment, leading to what is known as drug-resistant or intractable epilepsy. It is in these cases that surgery may be indicated. Specialist consultations and a large number of tests are needed to assess these epilepsies and determine the indications for surgery. The aim is to cure epilepsy and, if possible, to stop antiepileptic treatments.
